Saturday night not all right for fighting

 A Marshall University football player was one of four people arrested on misdemeanor charges early Saturday morning for their involvement in a fight that broke out in the 600 block of 4th Avenue.James Paul Johnson, listed on the football roster as J.J. Johnson, is charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction. The police report, obtained from Magistrate Betty Wolford’s office, states that Johnson was involved in a fight and refused to quit even after being told to stop.

Johnson, 20, is a defensive back and will be a senior during the upcoming season. Johnson played in 12 games last year, registering 56 tackles and seven pass deflections.

When contacted on Saturday, Marshall head football coach Mark Snyder said he had not yet spoken with Johnson. Snyder offered a “no comment” pending further information.
