Take a walk on the wild side this weekend. Robert Engesser has brought his entertaining and educational Jungle Safari to Martinsburg. Various animals will be visiting the mall for local residents to view, pet and learn about.Engesser says the free event offers area residents a chance to interact with familiar animals such as goats or take a look at more exotic creatures such as tigers or kangaroos. The only cost is one dollar if people choose to see the rarest animals at the display, a white tiger and black leopard.Engesser and his wife travel with the animals for five or six weeks at a time to pay for operating a breeding farm for large cats they own and operate in Florida. They supply zoos and other breeders with the animals and made the stop in Martinsburg on the way back from delivering a lion to a park in Pennsylvania. An informational talk will be given around 7:30 every night the safari is here, and afterwards the crowd will be able to see the big cats being fed.The event is sponsored by the Martinsburg Mall and will run through Saturday from 10:00am until 9:00pm.
