PHHI Welcomes New Facility

Panhandle Home Health Incorporated officially opened its new location Tuesday afternoon during a ribbon cutting ceremony.  The new location off Old Mill Road near City Hospital puts the facility more at the center of the medical community according to the Administrator of PHHI Lisa Bivens. An increase in patients and staff brought about by growing population and an increased need for in-home health care made the move necessary, and Bivens says it has more benefits than just a better location.  PHHI moved into the building last month and Bivens says one of the biggest changes has been the increased space.  She says they can have meetings without having to travel to outside locations and that there are now private offices so nurses can work in one central location, a change Bivens thinks will improve overall efficiency. The move has also allowed PHHI to go electronic.  Bivens says that there are areas now where staff can log onto the computer system to file paper work and complete other documentation electronically.PHHI provides in-home services to members of Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan Counties.  Their services include skilled nursing, speech therapy, medical social workers, registered dieticians, certified home health aides and physical therapy.
