Body Found Near Falling Waters

Authorities believe they have discovered the body of a Falling Waters man reported missing since June.  Berkeley County Sheriff Randy Smith says the body found Tuesday night is believed to be James Tucker, a man who was reported missing on June 29 of this year. The identity of the body will be confirmed after the dental records are checked against Tucker’s by the medical examiner in either Morgantown or Charleston. The body was found wrapped in a tarp and buried behind a mobile home off of Crawford Quarry Road near Falling Waters on Tuesday night.  Smith says the investigation led to the arrest of 50 year-old Carl Eugene Manford, a resident of the area where the body was found.  Smith says the information uncovered during the course of their missing person’s investigation led authorities to the trailer where Tucker’s body was found.Manford was being held at Eastern Regional Jail and has been charged with Tucker’s murder, according to Smith.
