The inmate who escaped from a Virginia jail on Friday has been captured. Mark Henry Craig, 35, whose last known addresses were listed in Harpers Ferry and Charles Town, managed to break out of the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center in Winchester at about 4:00 p.m. Friday. West Virginia Trooper Joseph M. Bush says Craig was apprehended at about 8:00 p.m. Monday evening. An anonymous caller said they observed Craig operating a black Honda Motorcycle on Leather Lane in the Fox Glen subdivision. When troopers arrived in the area they observed Craig pull into the Seven Seas convenience store where he jumped off of his bike and proceeded on foot. He was apprehended and taken to Eastern Regional Jail. Craig has been charged with transferring stolen goods for the theft of the motorcycle and two counts of fugitive from justice.Prior to his escape, Craig was being held in Frederick County, Va., on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, destruction of property and a larceny charge filed in Loudoun County. Police believe that after Craig escaped, he stole a 1989 Dodge Ram sports utility vehicle and a .40-caliber handgun during a burglary in Frederick County. The stolen SUV was later recovered in Jefferson County. Police think that Craig stole the 2002 Honda Nighthawk motorcycle after abandoning the stolen SUV.
