HMS Technologies Opens New Facility

An open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for HMS Technologies, Inc. was held in Martinsburg Tuesday.  The event celebrated the opening of the company’s new facility in a renovated barn that once served as a television station and later a church.  Harry Siegel, CEO and President of HMS, is a medically retired Navy Officer who started the company in 2003.  He said the 300-year-old barn is the perfect place for his business because they strive to bring “Old world commitment coupled with new world technology,” which is exactly what has happened with the renovation of the structure.  Much of the original architecture, including the wood from hay lofts and stalls, was integrated into the design of the new office space.HMS is an Advanced Information Systems Integrator that works in technology integration, business optimization and enterprising solutions.  It is a certified Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB), meaning the business concern is controlled and owned by service disabled veterans.  The executive staff at HMS is made up of military veterans.

Congresswoman Shelly Moore Capito was on hand for the event, which was open to the public.  A tour of the facility was given including a look at the auditorium, which can seat up to 200 people, and several of the new offices and board rooms Siegel says have helped the company room to spread out.  Siegel says having the building adds credibility to the business and will leave room for expansion as the company continues to grow.
