Caregiver Support Fair a Success

Eastern Panhandle Residents had the chance to visit the Caregiver Support Fair Tuesday at the Martinsburg Mall.  The fair was designed to educate and empower community caregivers while also creating awareness about the importance of family caregivers and the impact they have on society.Bill Bugg was at the fair to sign copies of his book Soaring Above Adversity, which he wrote after being his wife’s caregiver for 18 years when she developed Alzheimer’s Disease.  Bugg explained that events like this are so important for people caring for a disabled or aging loved one because it gives them a chance to talk to people and take home information so they can learn what assisted living facilities and nursing homes are all about.

The fair is part of National Adult Day Services Week which continues Wednesday with an Adult Day Services Program and Open House from 10:00am until 2:00pm at the Berkeley Senior Center on North high Street.
