Spring Mills Welcomes New Medical Center

Spring Mills Medical Center officially opened with a ribbon cutting celebration on Monday morning.  The facility is a family medicine practice located in northern Berkeley County.  The Spring Mills Medical Center will offer a full scope of family medicine services from pediatrics to geriatrics, and will include well child care, immunizations, and preventative care.  Additionally, the Center will offer lab and EKG services along with minor medical procedures.Delegate for the 55th District John Overington was at Monday’s ceremony.  He says what this new facility will give patients the option of visiting a local medical facility rather than traveling into nearby Maryland for their treatment. The center will be staffed by Doctors Devika Hanumara and Vineet Sood.  Dr. Sood said at the ribbon cutting that the goal is to make the facility a good place for people to come and receive care over the next few years.  Both family medicine physicians are Maryland natives who recently moved to the area after completing their family medicine training.New patient appointments are being scheduled at the Spring Mills Medical Center and will be opened Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.  For more information call (304) 820-1031.Story and photos by Robert Lyles
