Autopsy Results Confirm Murder

The result of an autopsy on a woman found in her home after the end of a hostage situation in Berkeley County have come back from Charleston.  Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Pamela Games Neely says 35-year-old Katherine Nicole Sharpe was murdered, and that her death was caused by stabbing.  Police arrested 37-year-old Donald Berkeley Surber of Winchester after a 26-hour standoff during which time he held Sharpe, his ex girlfriend, hostage in her Raider Lane Home.

Surber already faces a charge of kidnapping, and Games-Neely says the new information will lead to additional charges as well.  Details about Sharpe’s death are limited right now.  Games-Neely says authorities are trying to protect Sharpe’s Family.
