M.O.M. Helps the Eastern Panhandle Smile

More than 700 people were at Hedgesville High School Friday morning for the Mission of Mercy free dental clinic.  Hundreds of volunteers were on hand to provide much needed dental services to people from across the region.According to Ken Barton, President of the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle, people began lining up Thursday evening after a rally held by organizers.  Barton said that the clinic is a temporary fix to a greater problem. Studies show that there is a growing need for affordable dental care in the Eastern Panhandle, and the clinic is one way of meeting those needs.  During last night’s rally it was announced that Healthy Smiles of the Eastern Panhandle Incorporated plans to establish a non-profit dental center that will provide care for underserved adults and children.  The clinic is expected to be opened by January of next year.                                                                                                                                                                 dscf2518.JPG Jan Callen dscf2519.JPG dscf2522.JPG dscf2523.JPG dscf2526.JPG Betty Russell Sherrif Kenny LeMaster, Dr. Lisa Dunn
