Former WVU pitcher Billy Gross has signed a free agent contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Gross is scheduled to participate with the Orioles rookie league squad out of the Gulf Coast League. After a stint there, Gross is expected to go to the Rookie Advanced Bluefield Orioles in Mercer County or the short A Aberdeen Iron Birds. The right handed pitcher from Frederick, Md. finished his Junior season with the Mountaineers with a 9-4 record and a 4.23 ERA. Gross finished second in the Big East in victories.
