Berkeley County is looking for a professional engineer to fill the void being left by county Engineer William Teach. Teach hasrked for the county since 1989 and will retire at the close of business on Decembers 31st of this year. he is also the only professional engineer on staff.
Berkeley County Commissioner approved a plan to recruit a professional engineer to fill the vacancy, but Legal Council for the Commission Norwood Bentley says the engineer will not necessarily replace Teach as head of the department. Commissioners are not ready to make that decision.
