H1N1 Still in Circulation
H1N1 was around when the school year ended last spring, and it will still around now as students head back to class. West Virginia Health Officer Dr. Cathy Slemp says there’s a better chance to get the virus, just like the regular flu, during the fall months. Slemp tells Metronews it’s difficult to predict what will happen, but it’s likely outbreaks will occur in individual schools. She says each school will have information on how to prevent and manage the spread of H1N1. Dr. Slemp says the vaccine should be here in October and there could be clinics at certain schools.Dr. Slemp says handling H1N1 has a lot to do with individual responsibility, especially of parents.
