Martinsburg High School recognized boy’s basketball coach, Dave Rogers, before the Friday night, January 22, 2010, basketball game in the MHS gym at 7:00 pm. The National Federation of State High School Coaches Association (NFHS) selected Coach Rogers as the 2009 Coach of the Year for the state of West Virginia in the sport of boys basketball. The NFHS Coaches Association is the official national coaches association of the NFHS. As coach of the Martinsburg High School Boys Basketball team, Coach Rogers won two state championships in 1994 and 2009. He has coached for thirty-one seasons and is closing in on 600 wins. Rogers received special recognition before the 42-41 win over Hedgesville at Martinsburg High School.
