With the recent earthquake in Haiti, local businesses are trying to do what they can to help. ViVo Hair Salon in Kearneysville held a fundraiser Tuesday from noon to 5pm, with 100% of proceeds from services and 25% of revenue from products purchased going to the American Red Cross. Owner Vi Nguyen understands what natural disasters can do to a nation first hand. Nguyen moved from Vietnam 10 years ago to America and says seeing pictures of people with no food, shelter, or water because of the earthquake struck a nerve within her so she decided to help. ViVo Hair salon held the fundraiser along with a raffle and refreshments for people who wanted to donate. She says if this fundraiser is a success, she will plan for another fundraiser in the future.
