The Martinsburg High School Jazz Band held a concert Thursday evening to celebrate their recent title of 2010 Honor Jazz Band for the state of West Virginia. Around 65 people showed up to listen to the jazz tunes that won the band their state title. Those songs included “That’s all”, “Leap Frog”, “Georgia On My Mind”, and “The Chicken”. Principal of Martinsburg high school Regina Phillips spoke at the event, where she said that she was very proud to have students as dedicated as those in the jazz band and was very happy for what they had achieved.
After the performance, the band celebrated their state crowning with cake and punch.
