MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Candidates for Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney were on hand to field questions at last night’s candidate forums at Blue Ridge CTC.

Both want to be Berkeley County’s chief prosecutor, but Pamela Games-Neely, who has held that job for 26 years, says she has a track record.

“I have 26 years of experience.  I’ve stood up in front of many juries, my opponent has not,” Games-Neely said prior to the forum, “That makes a big difference because it’s really easy to sit around and talk to people about it, but it’s a whole different animal to talk to juries and see what they understand and see what they respect.”

Catie Wilkes-Delligatti says she’s running for the future of Berkeley County.

Delligatti said, “To fight this drug epidemic that we’re facing, who’s going to be willing to utilize all of the tools in our tool shed such as Drug Courts and the Day Report Center, and also work with Law Enforcement hand in hand?  I believe I can do that.”

The two differ on their approach to how the Prosecutor’s office should be used in the fight against the drug epidemic in the county.

Tuesday night’s forums can be heard in their entirety on Saturday morning (April 9) on 1340 WEPM beginning at 9 a.m.

The forums continue Thursday night at 6 p.m. when candidates for the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office meet at the historic McFarland House in Martinsburg.
