Renowned Neurosurgeon Joins WVU Medicine, Berkeley Medical Center

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — WVU Medicine and the Berkeley Medical Center are adding resources to further invest in neuroscience and neuromuscular care.

Today, they announced the appointment of John Caruso, a board certified neurosurgeon, to the medical staff and the department of neurosurgery.

Caruso has served in the region over the past 20 years, most recently in Hagerstown.

Caruso says he’s exciting to apart of the growth in the region and at WVU Medicine.

“There building a new medical office building now. There expanding capabilities of in-patient/out-patient surgery,” said Caruso. “So we got several years of exciting growth that this is going to be an anchor for.”

A new regional neurosurgery care office will open this fall.
