Shepherd to Host Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — The Shepherd University Office of Student Engagement will be sponsoring their first of two all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts on Saturday, January 30th.

From 9AM to 1PM at the War Memorial Building on German St., they will be raising money for the Alternative Spring Break program, which has been around for over 12 years.

Alternative Spring Break will offer up to 25 students the opportunity to spend spring break performing community service.

Community Service and Service Learning Coordinator for Shepherd University, Rachel Crum, says the students love this program because they get to both see and help different communities.

She says “they are kind of like adopted children to these different communities and you can definitely tell that we’ve, in our own small way, put Shepherd on the map at these various locations.”

She also mentioned that students who will be attending the trip will be present and working as hosts and servers, as well as helping in the kitchen.

The breakfast is open to the public and donations will be collected.
