Tractor trailer strikes power pole in Berkeley Springs

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — No injuries were reported after a tractor trailer struck a power pole over the weekend.

The crash happened at around 9:30 Saturday night near the BB&T on S. Washington Street, according to the Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Company.

West Virginia State Police and Potomac Edison responded to the scene. The tractor trailer was damaged and had to be towed from the area.

Crews had to place a fire line around the scene because of “several civilians attempting to cross downed wires and failing to obey firefighter requests to stand clear of the incident”, according to a news release.

The scene was cleared and the pole was replaced shortly after midnight.
