SPRING MILLS, W.Va. — WVU Medicine held a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house Friday for its newest medical office building in Spring Mills.

The three-story, 40,000 square foot facility on the intersection of Route 11 and Campus Drive will house Primary Care and Specialty Care Physician Offices, a Women’s Imaging Center with ultrasound devices, and extra space for future rehab facilities.

President and CEO Tony Zelenka tells WEPM that the Spring Mills project was about providing service in a growing residential area while creating more space at the Berkeley Medical Center.

“On the hospital base, our market share is increasing so significantly but even the basic things like parking is becoming an issue,” said Zelenka.

Zelenka said the hospital is now focusing on recruitment and the new state of the art building should help with that. The building officially opens for business on Monday.
